Frequently Asked Questions

Can I cancel?

Whenever you like, right from your account. You can also skip a single month if life gets loud, which most people would rather do than leave. It takes about as long as waiting for the kettle.

Cancelling stops future billing. Anything already charged still ships — we won't keep your money and quietly not send the letter.

What's the difference between the journeys?

There are three ways in.

  • Monthly — $25 a month. Renews each month. Cancel or skip whenever you like.
  • Three Months — $72, charged once. Three letters, three teas. It does not renew.
  • Six Months — $139, charged once. Six letters, six teas, and the complete Volume One. It does not renew.

The prepaid journeys work out a little cheaper per letter, but the real difference is that they end on their own.

Do the three and six month journeys auto-renew?

No. They are charged one time and that is the end of it. No card is left on file, nothing renews, and there is nothing to remember to cancel.

This matters most if you're giving one as a gift. Nothing will ever land on the card of the person who opens it, and nothing lands on yours again either.

Where does my journey start?

Everyone begins at Letter No. 01, whenever they join. You're not dropped into the middle of a story that started without you.

What does shipping cost?

Nothing inside the United States, and every letter goes tracked so you can see it coming.

International orders are quoted at cost at checkout. Postage on a small parcel abroad often runs more than the letter itself, and we would rather charge it honestly than bury it in the price for everyone.

When does my letter ship?

Between the 1st and the 15th of each month. International post takes a little longer.

On a three or six month journey your first parcel follows the same schedule, and each one after it keeps the same rhythm, based on when you started.

What is the bound volume?

When the sixth letter lands, the bound volume follows — all six letters gathered together, hand numbered. It isn't for sale, and it's the one thing you can only get by finishing Volume One.

What makes your tea different?

Each tea is chosen for the place and the story behind it, not only for its quality. Every letter is built around a region, its landscape, and the way tea is shared there.

Where do your teas come from?

From tea-growing communities around the world, from renowned origins to small farms shaped by generations of tradition. We work closely with cultivators and independent producers who approach tea with care and respect for the land, buying small rather than in volume.

Are your teas loose leaf?

Yes. All of our teas are loose leaf and packaged in vacuum-sealed pouches to preserve freshness, aroma and character from origin to cup.

How should I prepare it?

A teapot, a gaiwan, a kyusu, an oversized mug, or the slightly chipped cup you somehow always reach for. Give the leaves room to open and the tea reveals itself gradually from one steep to the next.

Every order includes a tea bag so you can skip all of that on a morning when you'd rather not think about it.

Will brewing instructions be included?

Yes. Each tea comes with recommended water temperature and steeping time, along with a little history of the tea and the region it came from. Our teas are meant to be enjoyed across multiple steeps, revealing more depth as they go.

Why “The Steeped Letter Co.”?

The name reflects what we hope to share: tea as a way of carrying story and connection. To steep a cup of tea is, in itself, an act of patience and care. It asks a few minutes and gives back a small, grounding ritual.
